2017.In orderto developstudents9English corepetencies,three levelsof activitiesare carefullydesigned,including learningand understanding,applying andpracticing aswell astransferringand creating.The classis leamercentered,which aimsto developstudents cooperativelearningability andcritical thinkingability.Learning and\Applying andTransferringandUnderstanding/PracticingCreating工Analysis ofteaching materialTheselected teachingmaterial is a readingpassage calledAChildofTwoCuisines.And thisclasses fromthe partunderstanding ideas.What:The thematiccontext isMan andSociety,which coversthe subjectcontent ofdiversefood culturesand healthyeating habits.The typeof text isanarrative.Based on the themeof,“fbod”this textintroduces thestory ofa ChineseBritishcrosscultural familysattitudes towardsfood.How:The text is orientedtowards oneclue,that is,five foodsincluding Sichuanhot pot,animal parts,full Englishbreakfast,Sunday roastand stinky tofu.Why:Although thelanguage andstructure of the textare simpleand easyfor studentstounderstand,the focusof thistextison itsprofound culturalconnotations.The valueof thistext isthatstudents enhancecrosscultural awarenessand understandthe food culture from a crosscultural perspective.工Analysis of studentsWhat theyknow:
