哈佛大学校长德鲁·福斯特英文演讲稿推动积极的变革和成长LadiesandgentlemenItisatruehonortospeakbeforeyoutodayasthePresidentofHarvardUniversity.AsarenownedinstitutionofhigherlearningHarvardhasalwaysbeenattheforefrontofmakingpositivechangesintheworld.AndIamproudtosaythatwecontinuetodosotoday.OneofthethingsthathasalwayssetHarvardapartisourcommitmenttoproducinggraduateswhoarenotonlyacademicallybrilliantbutwhoarealsoleadersintheircommunities.Webelievethateducationisaboutmorethanjustlearningfactsandfigures;itisalsoaboutlearningtothinkcriticallytoanalyzecomplexproblemsandtoworkcollaborativelywithotherstofindsolutions.Inordertoachievethisgoalweareconstantlystrivingtopromotepositivegrowthandchangebothinsideandoutsideourclassrooms.Andwedothisinavarietyofways.Firstweencourageourfacultytostayup-to-datewiththelatestresearchandteachingmethodologies.Byprovidingthemwiththetoolsandresourcestheyneedtosucceedweempowerthemtoprovidethebestpossibleeducationtoourstudents.Secondwepromoteacultureofinnovationandcreativity.Weencourageourstudentstothinkoutsidetheboxandtotakerisksinpursuitoftheirgoals.Wewantthemtobeboldtobecuriousandtoembracefailureasanessentialpartofthelearningprocess.Thirdweplaceastrongemphasisondiversityandinclusion.Webelievethathavingadiversestudentbodyandfacultyisessentialtocreatingastimulatingandintellectuallychallenginglearningenvironment.Byfosteringacultureofinclusivityweencouragestudentsfromallbackgroundstothriveandsucceed.Butourcommitmenttopositivechangeandgrowthextendsbeyondthewallsofourcampus.Wearealsodeeplycommittedtomakingapositiveimpactontheworld.Forexamplewehaveestablishedanumberofprogramsandinitiativesthataredesignedtoaddresssomeofthemostpressingissuesfacingsocietytoday.Theseincludeprogramstopromoteenvironmentalsustainabilitytoimproveaccesstohealthcareindevelopingcountriesandtopromotepeaceandreconciliationinconflictzonesaroundtheworld.Inadditionweareconstantlyseekingtocollaboratewithotherinstitutionsandorganizationstotackletheseissuesinacoordinatedandeffectiveway.Webelievethatbyworkingtogetherwecanachievefarmorethanwecouldeverhopetoonourown.Soasyoucanseeourcommitmenttopositivechangeandgrowthextendsfarbeyondourcampus.Weareconstantlylookingforwaystomakeapositiveimpactontheworldandtohelpourstudentsbecometheleadersandinnovatorsoftomorrow.Thankyou.第PAGE页共NUMPAGES页。
